Olympic Stadium Aug 2010

Last month we visited the Olympic Park in London. It was really exciting to see it, I think it's going to be amazing. The Olympic stadium will have seating for 80,000 during the Games. It was really interesting to hear that the back stage area and changing rooms for athletes etc will actually be under ground level, beneath the floor. After the Olympics the capacity will be reduced and it'll be turned into an Athletics stadium.

Bringing poetry to Keynsham Music Festival

On 4 July I went to Keynsham Music festival. Local people and students were performing their own poetry on stage and I wanted to be there for moral support. I haven't seen much performance poetry before so I didn't really know what to expect. I thought it was honest, insightful and hilarious at times. I was so impressed by the performers, it takes a lot of confidence to stand up in front of people, especially as some of them had never done it before.
